From a young age, Dr. Chris Smith was immersed in the world of equestrian competition. Growing up in a riding family, he competed extensively in the National Barrel Horse Association and developed a deep, firsthand understanding of the physical and mental demands placed on equine athletes.
With the unique perspective of both rider and veterinarian, Dr. Smith brings a combination of clinical expertise and personal passion to his work. His background in competition instilled in him a lifelong commitment to the health, soundness, and performance of the horses he serves. As an equine veterinarian, he has dedicated his career to advancing safe and effective practices in equine sports medicine—balancing precision, practicality, and compassion in every case he handles.
Dr. Smith’s dedication to improving outcomes for both horses and their riders led to the founding of Foxhall Equine, a facility built on the principles of comprehensive care, rehabilitation, and performance-focused recovery. His vision and leadership continue to drive the practice forward, guiding athletes of all disciplines toward their highest potential.
Dr. Margolis was thrilled to join the Foxhall team in 2023. She blends a love for horses cultivated in her Maryland upbringing with a passion for comprehensive equine care. After earning dual degrees in Biology and English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, she then pursued her veterinary education at the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with honors in 2012.
With over a decade of experience as a sports medicine practitioner at Maryland racetracks and in ambulatory practice, Dr. Margolis has garnered a reputation for excellence in diagnosing and treating equine athletes. Her areas of interest include sports medicine and rehabilitation, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. She aims to bring this expertise, alongside her deep love for horses, to Foxhall every day. Outside the clinic Dr. Margolis treasures spending quality time with her young son, Jake, and their beloved Border Collies.
Dr. Lauren Michaloski is an equine veterinarian with a passion for comprehensive preventative care and holistic medicine. Originally from central Maryland, Dr. Michaloski earned her undergraduate degree from Towson University before pursuing her veterinary education at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies where she graduated with honors in 2025. During her clinical year, she trained at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, gaining valuable hands-on experience in equine internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Michaloski is particularly interested in integrating modern veterinary practices with holistic modalities, including acupuncture and herbal remedies, to promote long-term wellness in her patients. With a focus on prevention, she aims to improve the quality of life for equine patients through comprehensive and personalized care – from backyard pets to Olympic athletes.
Tiffanie brings extensive experience and exceptional technical skill to her role as Head Technician at Foxhall Equine. A Baltimore County native, she began her career working with Thoroughbred sales horses, managing layups, prepping yearlings, and assisting at the Fasig-Tipton sales in Maryland and Kentucky.
Tiffanie went on to spend fourteen years as a surgical technician at Manor Equine Hospital, where she developed advanced expertise in equine surgical care and post-operative management. Tiffanie now leads our technical team with a strong focus on precision, compassion, and comprehensive patient care—helping ensure every horse at Foxhall receives the highest standard of rehabilitation and support.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Dean brings over 30 years of experience in the horse industry to his role at Foxhall Equine. He spent more than two decades as a licensed Thoroughbred trainer based at Pimlico, developing deep expertise in the care and management of racehorses.
For the past ten years, Dean has worked as an equine veterinary technician, further expanding his clinical knowledge and practical skill set. As Operations Manager, he plays a key role in overseeing the day-to-day functions of the facility, combining hands-on equine experience with operational oversight to help maintain the highest standards of care and efficiency. He also works closely with our shipping partners to help coordinate horse transport.
As Office Manager at Foxhall Equine, Anne plays a central role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. She manages scheduling, communication, and client coordination while supporting both the veterinary and rehabilitation teams.
A native of northern Baltimore County, Maryland, Anne holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from McDaniel College and a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland. She has over a decade of experience in the equine industry, including work in rehabilitation programs and FEI-level dressage barns. Prior to joining Foxhall, she managed the front office at an equine hospital for more than four years. Outside of work, Anne enjoys history, genealogy, and training and showing her horses in dressage.
Dove became a valued member of the Foxhall team in February 2023, bringing with her an impressive four-decade career dedicated to thoroughbred racehorses. Originally from Camden, SC, her passion for horses ignited at the age of four, setting her on a path that would define her professional journey as a consummate horsewoman. Having dabbled in the hunter/jumper world during her schooling years, Dove eventually found her stride in thoroughbred racing. She enjoyed a successful tenure as a stakes winning public trainer, overseeing the training and care of up to 45 horses simultaneously.
Her exceptional horsemanship and unparalleled understanding of equines have seamlessly translated into her current role as a rehabilitation technician. We consider ourselves exceptionally fortunate to have Dove on our team, where her wealth of knowledge and extensive experience brings immeasurable value.
Val brings years of hands-on experience in the equine industry and a lifelong passion for horses to her multifaceted role at Foxhall Equine. A Harford County native, she began her professional equine career over 30 years ago as a Thoroughbred exercise rider in South Carolina and has worked in many areas of the industry since. At Foxhall, Val serves as a veterinary assistant, rehabilitation technician, and one of our in-house shippers—providing reliable transport for patients as needed. Her strong horsemanship, attention to detail, and versatility make her a key part of the team.
An avid rider, Val is currently passionate about liberty work and enjoys exploring new ways to connect with her horses. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family—including her son, a professional jockey—and spending time with her Golden Retriever mixes.
Faith is a certified Equine PEMF Practitioner who uses Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) or MagnaWave therapy to support equine health, recovery, and performance. She tailors each session to the individual horse, with a focus on comfort, mobility, and overall well-being. Beyond her work as a practitioner, Faith excels at connecting the equestrian community with trusted treatments, resources, and products. With a degree in Communications and a Master’s in Planning and Development, she brings both knowledge and professionalism to the Foxhall team.
Faith also serves as a USEF Large R Steward, Certified Schooling Supervisor, Field Measurement Examiner, and USEF Drug Tester. She volunteers on the USHJA Zone 2 Board, Zone 2 Championship Committee, MHSA Board, and MHSA Education Committee. Outside of work, Faith enjoys riding and spending time with her family—her two greatest passions.
With a career background as a fireman and EMT, Steve brings a strong focus on safety, emergency preparedness, and operational efficiency to Foxhall Equine. As Facilities Manager, he oversees the day-to-day maintenance of the property, ensuring all systems run smoothly and the facility remains safe, secure, and in top condition. You may also see him serving as an EMT at local horse shows, where he remains active in the equine community.
Dylan is a seasoned equestrian professional and licensed Thoroughbred racehorse trainer, bringing a wealth of experience to her role at Foxhall Equine. As a veterinary assistant, she is involved in all aspects of patient care and is known for her meticulous attention to detail and natural connection with horses. A Maryland native, Dylan began riding at a young age and went on to work as a professional exercise rider before becoming a licensed trainer under the mentorship of racing legend Dickie Small. Her extensive background in riding and training informs her clinical work, ensuring a high standard of care for every patient.
In her free time, Dylan enjoys doting on her Off-the-Track Thoroughbred, Just Sayin’, and is an avid reader.
With a passion for horses and over a decade of experience in equine care, Jose brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our barn. He understands the unique needs of each horse and works tirelessly to ensure they are comfortable and content. Jose is known for his ever-present smile and exceptional horse handling abilities. He is committed to providing top-notch care for each horse, ensuring they receive the attention and exercise they need to thrive. Jose is a valued member of the Foxhall family. Outside of work at the barn, he enjoys spending time with his daughter.
Experienced and dedicated, Farm Manager Eddie leads the barn crew at Foxhall Equine with a passion for equine welfare and facility management. With a keen eye for detail and years of hands-on experience, he oversees many aspects of stable management, husbandry, and grounds upkeep, ensuring the highest standards of care and excellence at our facility. Eddie has been a dependable and essential part of the team since Foxhall’s beginning.
Austen and Francisco support daily operations with consistency, care, and attention to detail. From feeding and turnout to maintaining clean, well-organized spaces, their work is essential to the smooth function and well-being of the horses in our care.
